Indications

Celecoxib is indicated for the treatment of pain and inflammation in various conditions. It is used in the management of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and acute pain in adults. It is also indicated to relieve pain associated with primary dysmenorrhea. Its action is based on the selective inhibition of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, which plays a crucial role in the production of prostaglandins, mediators that cause inflammation and pain.

Composition

Each tablet contains 200 mg of celecoxib as the active ingredient. Excipients: microcrystalline cellulose, starch, talc, and other inactive components that facilitate the formulation and stability of the product.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib or to any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions to other NSAIDs, as well as those with a history of active peptic ulcer or gastrointestinal bleeding. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe heart failure and in those who have experienced adverse reactions to acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, renal or hepatic impairment. Regular medical monitoring is recommended for patients requiring prolonged treatment. Avoid concomitant use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants without the supervision of a healthcare professional.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
