Indications

Celecoxib is indicated for the treatment of acute and chronic pain associated with various conditions, such as osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and menstrual pain. It is also indicated for the management of postoperative pain. It acts as a selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitor, thereby reducing inflammation and pain without significantly affecting the gastric mucosa, which differentiates it from other NSAIDs.

Composition

Each Celecoxib capsule contains 200 mg of celecoxib as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to celecoxib or any of the excipients. It should not be administered to patients with a history of allergic reactions to other NSAIDs. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe cardiovascular disease, severe renal failure, and in those who have experienced peptic ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding.

Precautions

Caution is recommended in patients with a history of heart disease, hypertension, hepatic or renal insufficiency. Regular medical monitoring is essential during treatment, especially in at-risk populations. Concomitant use with other NSAIDs or anticoagulants should be avoided without medical supervision.

Store the medication in its original packaging, at room temperature, protected from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
