Indications

Ceftriaxone is a broad-spectrum antibiotic indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is used for respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, bacterial meningitis, as well as complicated intra-abdominal infections. It is effective against gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, making it a therapeutic option in cases of mixed infections or when empirical treatment is required. The dose and duration of treatment should be determined by the physician according to the severity of the infection and the patient's clinical response.

Composition

Each vial contains 1 g of Ceftriaxone, plus suitable excipients for the formulation. The Salucom ampoule is used for dilution and administration of the medication.

Contraindications

Ceftriaxone should not be administered to patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or to any of the components of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to penicillins. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, especially colitis.

Precautions

A thorough medical history is recommended before starting treatment with Ceftriaxone. In patients with renal insufficiency, dose adjustment is suggested. Additionally, caution should be exercised in patients with liver diseases. It is important to monitor renal function and hematological parameters during prolonged treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and at temperatures not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
