Indications

Ceftazidime is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. This includes lower respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, complicated skin and soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections, and septicemia. It is also used in immunocompromised patients and for hospital-acquired infections. Ceftazidime is effective against a wide range of bacteria, including some species of Pseudomonas and other gram-negative pathogens.

Composition

Each vial contains: Ceftazidime 1 g (as ceftazidime disodium).

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftazidime, other beta-lactam antibiotics, or any component of the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions.

Precautions

Ceftazidime should be used with caution in patients with renal impairment, as dosage adjustments may be required. Furthermore, renal function and the patient's hydration status should be assessed. It is important to monitor for adverse reactions, especially during prolonged treatment. In case of severe diarrhea, pseudomembranous colitis should be considered.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
