Indications
Cefotaxime is indicated for the treatment of severe bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to this antibiotic. These include, among others, lower respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial meningitis, sepsis, and soft tissue infections. It is especially useful in the treatment of infections caused by Gram-negative and some Gram-positive bacteria, as well as in polymicrobial infections. Cefotaxime can be used in adult and pediatric patients, with dosage adjusted according to the patient's clinical condition and renal function.
Composition
Each Cefotaxime Im ampoule contains 1 g of cefotaxime sodium as the active ingredient. Excipients: water for injection.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or any other component of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other antibiotics.
Precautions
It is important to assess the patient's renal function before starting treatment, as cefotaxime can accumulate in cases of renal insufficiency. Renal function monitoring and dose adjustment are recommended accordingly. In addition, possible adverse reactions such as diarrhea, skin rashes, and hematological abnormalities should be considered. In case of anaphylaxis symptoms, treatment should be discontinued immediately and appropriate management provided.

Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
