Indications
Cavep (Etoposide) is indicated in the treatment of certain types of cancer, especially in the management of malignant neoplasms such as small cell lung cancer and testicular tumors. This medicine acts as a topoisomerase II inhibitor, interfering with DNA replication and promoting cell death in cancer cells. It is used in combined chemotherapy regimens to maximize treatment efficacy. It is essential that the use of this medicine be supervised by a healthcare professional who will evaluate the patient's clinical profile and adjust doses as needed.
Composition
Each ampule of Cavep contains 100 mg of etoposide, as well as excipients that facilitate its administration and absorption.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to etoposide or any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe myelosuppression, serious infections, or who are receiving concomitant treatments that may potentiate the risk of hematological adverse effects.
Precautions
Caution is advised in patients with compromised hepatic or renal function, as well as in those with autoimmune or infectious diseases. Regular hematological monitoring during treatment is important to detect possible toxicities. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medicine, unless strictly necessary and under the supervision of a doctor.
