Indications
Carpin is indicated for the treatment of various epileptic conditions, including partial and generalized seizures. It is also used in the management of bipolar disorder as a mood stabilizer and in the treatment of neuropathic pain. Its anticonvulsant action is due to the inhibition of excessive neuronal activity, which helps prevent the occurrence of seizures. It is important to follow the doctor's instructions to adjust the dose according to the patient's response and the severity of the condition to be treated.
Composition
Each Carpin tablet contains 200 mg of carbamazepine as the active ingredient. In addition, it contains excipients that ensure the stability and absorption of the medication.
Contraindications
Carpin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to carbamazepine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with second or third-degree atrioventricular block, and in those suffering from acute intermittent porphyria. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Carpin to patients with a history of liver, kidney, or hematological disease. Clinical monitoring and laboratory tests are recommended during treatment. Carbamazepine can interact with other medications, so it is essential to inform the doctor about any other therapy the patient is receiving.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use the medicine after the expiry date indicated on the package.
