Indications
Canfrezol (fluconazole) is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections caused by susceptible organisms, including oropharyngeal, esophageal, and systemic candidiasis, as well as cryptococcosis in immunocompromised patients. It is also used for the prophylaxis of fungal infections in high-risk patients, such as those with neutropenia or undergoing chemotherapy. It is effective in preventing fungal infections in organ transplant recipients and in those receiving prolonged broad-spectrum antibiotic treatments.
Composition
Each Canfrezol ampoule contains: Fluconazole 100 mg. Excipients: water for injection, citric acid, sodium chloride, among others.
Contraindications
Canfrezol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluconazole, other azoles, or any component of the formulation. It should not be administered to patients with severe liver disease or those receiving medications that prolong the QT interval without proper medical supervision.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Canfrezol to patients with a history of liver disease, renal insufficiency, or those receiving other medications that may interact with fluconazole. Regular monitoring of liver and kidney function is recommended during treatment. In case of adverse reactions, the medication should be discontinued, and a doctor should be consulted.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at temperatures not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
