Indications

Cabergoline is indicated for the treatment of hyperprolactinemia-related disorders, including conditions such as galactorrhea and amenorrhea. Additionally, it is used in the management of symptoms associated with Cushing's syndrome and in the treatment of some types of prolactin-producing pituitary tumors. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, which helps to lower prolactin levels in the body.

Composition

Each tablet contains: Cabergoline 0.5 mg. Excipients: starch, lactose, magnesium stearate, among others.

Contraindications

Cabergoline is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cabergoline or any component of the formula. It should not be administered in cases of uncontrolled hypertension, severe cardiovascular diseases, or during pregnancy and lactation without appropriate medical evaluation. Likewise, its use is not recommended in patients with a history of severe psychiatric disorders.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular disorders, psychiatric problems, or interstitial lung disease. Regular medical follow-up is recommended to assess treatment response and potential adverse effects. In the event of unusual symptoms, such as hallucinations or changes in behavior, a doctor should be consulted immediately.
