Indications

Cabergoline is indicated for the treatment of hyperprolactinemic disorders, including prolactinomas and other conditions related to excess prolactin. It is used in some cases for the treatment of Parkinson's disease, as well as in the management of sexual dysfunction related to elevated prolactin levels. This medication acts as a dopamine receptor agonist, which helps to lower prolactin levels in the body.

Composition

Each tablet contains 0.5 mg of cabergoline and excipients necessary for the product's formulation.

Contraindications

Cabergoline is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to cabergoline or any of the excipients in the formula. It should not be used in patients with a history of severe cardiovascular diseases, such as heart failure or uncontrolled hypertension. Additionally, it should be avoided in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Caution is advised when administering cabergoline to patients with a history of psychiatric disorders, interstitial lung disease, or cardiovascular disorders. Regular medical follow-up is essential to monitor treatment response and the appearance of adverse effects. The dosage should be adjusted according to the patient's clinical response.
