Indications

Butylscopolamine/Metamizole is indicated for the treatment of spasms of the gastrointestinal tract, biliary tract, and urinary tract, as well as for the management of colicky pain. The combination of butylscopolamine, an antispasmodic, and metamizole, a non-opioid analgesic, allows for a synergistic action that relieves pain and discomfort associated with these spasms. This medication is commonly used in cases of abdominal cramps, renal and biliary colic, and may be useful in diagnostic or surgical procedures that require the reduction of smooth muscle tone. Its use may also be considered in patients requiring postoperative pain control, always under the supervision of a physician.

Composition

Each tablet contains: 10 mg Butylscopolamine and 250 mg Metamizole.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula, those with closed-angle glaucoma, obstructive prostatic hypertrophy, or in the presence of gastrointestinal diseases such as ileus or megacolon. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency or in those with acute anemia or severe hematological disease.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of cardiovascular diseases, as well as in those receiving pharmacological treatments that may interact with metamizole. It is important to monitor renal function in patients with a history of alterations in this area. Prolonged use of the medication without adequate supervision by a healthcare professional is suggested to be avoided.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
