Indications

Budesonide is a corticosteroid used in the treatment of various respiratory conditions. It is indicated for the management of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma. Its use is intended to reduce inflammation in the airways, improving lung function and alleviating associated symptoms such as difficulty breathing, coughing, and wheezing. It is especially useful in patients who require long-term control of their respiratory disease and who do not respond adequately to short-acting bronchodilators.

Composition

Each 2 ml of the suspension contains 0.500 mg of budesonide as the active ingredient. Excipients: purified water, citric acid, sodium citrate, and other inactive excipients.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to budesonide or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in untreated pulmonary infections or in situations of severe asthmatic crises requiring emergency medical attention.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering budesonide to patients with a history of active or latent tuberculosis, systemic infections, osteoporosis, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, and those receiving immunosuppressive therapies. It is advisable to monitor the lung function of patients on long-term treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
