Indications
Ipratropium Bromide is indicated for the treatment and control of airway obstruction associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD), including chronic bronchitis and emphysema. It is also used in the management of asthma, especially in patients who do not respond adequately to beta-adrenergic bronchodilators. This medication acts as an anticholinergic bronchodilator, helping to relax the muscles of the airways and facilitating breathing.
Composition
Each ml of the nebulized solution contains 0.25 mg of Ipratropium (as Ipratropium Bromide) and excipients q.s. to complete 1 ml.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Ipratropium Bromide or any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of narrow-angle glaucoma as it may worsen the condition.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ipratropium Bromide to patients with prostatic hyperplasia, urinary retention, or cardiovascular diseases. It is recommended to monitor patients with pulmonary diseases who may require higher doses of bronchodilators. In case of adverse effects, the treatment should be reevaluated.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and keep out of reach of children.
