Indications

Brimex (Acyclovir) is indicated for the treatment of herpes simplex virus infections, including oral and genital herpes. It is also used in the treatment of varicella-zoster virus infections, such as chickenpox and herpes zoster. This medication works by inhibiting viral DNA replication, which helps reduce the severity and duration of symptoms. Treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after the onset of the first symptoms. It is also used in immunocompromised patients to prevent herpes infections.

Composition

Each Brimex tablet contains 200 mg of Acyclovir as the active ingredient. Its formulation includes excipients that promote the stability and absorption of the medication.

Contraindications

Brimex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Acyclovir or any of the excipients of the medication. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe dehydration or severe kidney disease without proper monitoring.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with renal impairment, as Acyclovir is primarily eliminated through the kidneys. Adequate hydration should be maintained during treatment to avoid nephrotoxicity. The use of Brimex in pregnant and breastfeeding women should also be considered under appropriate medical supervision. Monitoring of treated patients is recommended, especially those who experience adverse effects or unexpected reactions.

Storage

Store at room temperature, in a dry and cool place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Do not use the medication after the expiration date indicated on the package.
