Indications
Bomib (Bortezomib) is indicated for the treatment of adult patients with multiple myeloma who have received at least one prior therapy. It is also used in combination with other chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of newly diagnosed multiple myeloma patients, as well as in the treatment of mantle cell lymphoma. The mechanism of action of Bortezomib is based on proteasome inhibition, which leads to the accumulation of pro-apoptotic proteins and the decrease of anti-apoptotic proteins, resulting in the induction of apoptosis in neoplastic cells.
Composition
Each Bomib ampule contains 3.5 mg of Bortezomib as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate its administration and stability.
Contraindications
Bomib is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Bortezomib or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease, as well as in those with active infections or severe dehydration.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Bomib to patients with a history of peripheral neuropathy, as this condition may be aggravated. It is also important to monitor hematological function, as cases of thrombocytopenia and neutropenia have been reported. Regular evaluation of liver and kidney function is recommended during treatment.
Storage
Bomib should be stored in a cool, dry place, protected from light. The storage temperature should not exceed 25°C. Keep out of reach of children.
