Indications

Bisoprolol is indicated for the treatment of arterial hypertension, as well as chronic heart failure. This medication works by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors, reducing heart rate and blood pressure. It is also used in the management of angina pectoris and in the prevention of cardiovascular events in high-risk patients. Administration should be according to medical indication, adjusting the dose according to the patient's clinical response.

Composition

Each 5 mg Bisoprolol tablet contains bisoprolol fumarate as the active ingredient. It also includes excipients such as lactose monohydrate, corn starch, povidone, and magnesium stearate.

Contraindications

It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to bisoprolol or any of the excipients. It should not be administered in cases of severe bradycardia, second or third-degree atrioventricular block, sick sinus syndrome, cardiogenic shock, and in patients with bronchial asthma or severe uncontrolled chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of respiratory problems, diabetes mellitus, peripheral arterial disease, or renal insufficiency. Regular medical follow-up is recommended to adjust the dose and monitor for possible adverse effects.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place away from direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
