Indications
Bioneuril (Carbamazepine) is indicated for the treatment of various forms of epilepsy, including partial seizures and generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Additionally, it is used in the management of bipolar affective disorder and for the treatment of neuropathic pain, such as trigeminal neuralgia. Its mechanism of action involves stabilizing hyperexcitable neuronal membranes, which reduces the frequency and intensity of seizures.
Composition
Each Bioneuril tablet contains 200 mg of Carbamazepine as the active ingredient. Excipients include: starch, talc, and other additives that ensure proper formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Bioneuril is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Carbamazepine or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to individuals with a history of agranulocytosis or severe skin reaction associated with its use. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of acute intermittent porphyria.
Precautions
Caution is essential in patients with a history of liver, heart, or hematological diseases. Regular monitoring of blood levels during treatment is recommended, as well as evaluation of liver and kidney function. The possibility of drug interactions with other medications, especially those affecting the central nervous system, should be considered.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, protected from light and out of reach of children. Storage temperature should not exceed 30°C. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the package.
