Indications
Biofilen is indicated in the treatment of arterial hypertension, as well as in the prevention of angina pectoris. This medication acts by blocking beta-adrenergic receptors, resulting in a decrease in heart rate and the heart's contractile force, thus helping to reduce blood pressure. It is also used in the management of arrhythmias and in the prevention of heart attacks in patients with a history of coronary heart disease. It is important that the use of Biofilen be supervised by a physician, who will evaluate the adequacy of the treatment according to the specific needs of the patient.
Composition
Each Biofilen tablet contains 100 mg of Atenolol as an active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for the formulation of the medication.
Contraindications
Biofilen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Atenolol or any component of the formula. It should not be used in patients with severe bradycardia, second or third-degree heart block, or in those with decompensated heart failure. It is also contraindicated in patients with sick sinus syndrome or in those who present with cardiogenic shock.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), diabetes mellitus, and in those with a history of depression. It is important to monitor renal function and blood pressure in patients receiving Biofilen treatment. Treatment should not be discontinued abruptly, as this may lead to an increase in the frequency of adverse events, including rebound hypertension.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
