Indications

Benzathine Benzylpenicillin is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by penicillin-susceptible microorganisms, including:

  • Pharyngitis and tonsillitis due to group A streptococci.
  • Prevention of rheumatic fever in patients with a history of this condition.
  • Skin and soft tissue infections due to streptococci and staphylococci.
  • Treatment of primary and secondary syphilis.

This antibiotic is particularly effective in eradicating the bacterium Streptococcus pyogenes and in preventing systemic complications associated with infections by this pathogen.

Composition

Each dose of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin contains:

  • Benzathine Benzylpenicillin: 1,200,000 Units.

Contraindications

The use of Benzathine Benzylpenicillin is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to penicillins or any of the components of the formula. It should also be avoided in cases of viral infections or in patients with severe renal insufficiency.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when using this medication in patients with a history of allergies, asthma, or kidney diseases. It is important to perform penicillin sensitivity tests before starting treatment. Renal function and the appearance of adverse reactions should be monitored during treatment.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
