Indications
Seltaferon is indicated for the treatment of influenza in adult and pediatric patients. This medication can be used to reduce the duration of illness symptoms and to prevent infection in individuals who have been exposed to the influenza virus. It is recommended to start treatment as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of symptom onset. It may also be indicated for influenza prophylaxis in individuals at high risk of complications or in situations of outbreaks in closed communities.
Composition
Each 1 ml of suspension contains 6 mg of oseltamivir (as phosphate), in addition to excipients such as sorbitol, citric acid, and other components that allow for the proper formulation of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oseltamivir or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency without appropriate medical evaluation.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of renal function problems, as well as in those with metabolic diseases that could be affected by the administration of this medication. Patients are also advised to inform their doctor about any other medications they are taking to avoid adverse interactions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Keep the product in its original container, tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use the product after the expiration date indicated on the package.
