Indications
Seltaferon is indicated for the treatment of influenza in adult and pediatric patients who present with symptoms of the disease. Its use is most effective when initiated within the first 48 hours of symptom onset. Additionally, Seltaferon can be used as prophylaxis in individuals who have been in close contact with people diagnosed with influenza, to prevent the onset of the disease. This medication works by inhibiting neuraminidase, an essential enzyme for influenza virus replication, thereby reducing the duration of symptoms and the severity of the disease.
Composition
Each ml of suspension contains 6 mg of oseltamivir (as phosphate), as well as excipients that facilitate its administration and preservation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to oseltamivir or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in people with severe renal insufficiency without appropriate medical supervision, as well as in those with a history of severe adverse reactions to antiviral medications.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Seltaferon to patients with a history of heart, respiratory, or metabolic diseases. Likewise, pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to consult their doctor before starting treatment. It is important to follow medical instructions and not modify the dose without professional supervision.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Once the bottle is opened, it is recommended to use the product within one month.
