Indications
Pregnus-Uti is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated acute urinary tract infections, including cystitis. This medication works through a mechanism of action that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, resulting in the death of the bacteria responsible for the infection. It is particularly effective against organisms such as Escherichia coli, which are the most common pathogens in urinary tract infections. Its use is recommended in patients who present with symptoms such as dysuria, pollakiuria, and urinary urgency. It is important that the treatment be completed according to medical instructions to avoid recurrence of the infection.
Composition
Each sachet of Pregnus-Uti contains 3 grams of fosfomycin trometamol as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients that facilitate the formulation and administration of the medication. It is recommended to read the leaflet to know all the specific components.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to fosfomycin or any of the excipients in the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with severe renal insufficiency. Its use during pregnancy and lactation is not recommended without medical supervision.
Precautions
Special care should be taken in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, as the use of antibacterials can alter the normal intestinal flora. Likewise, medical follow-up is suggested if symptoms persist after treatment. It is important to avoid the concomitant use of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), as they may increase the risk of gastrointestinal adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
