Indications
Pregnus Suspension is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including urinary tract infections such as cystitis and pyelonephritis, as well as respiratory and skin infections. Fosfomycin acts by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the death of bacteria. This medication can be used in adults and children over 5 years of age. It is important that Pregnus be used under the supervision of a doctor, who will determine the duration and appropriate dose of treatment according to the severity of the infection and the patient's response.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 250 mg of fosfomycin trometamol, as well as excipients necessary for the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency and in those with serious illnesses that compromise their general state of health.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disorders, as well as in those with compromised renal function. It is essential that the patient informs their doctor about all medications they are taking, as well as any pre-existing medical conditions. Clinical monitoring during treatment is suggested to evaluate efficacy and the appearance of possible adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
