Indications
Pregnus is indicated for the treatment of uncomplicated urinary tract infections, including acute cystitis. Its mechanism of action is based on the inhibition of bacterial cell wall synthesis, which results in the death of susceptible bacteria. It is important to consider that this medication is primarily effective against gram-negative and some gram-positive organisms.
Composition
Each Pregnus capsule contains 500 mg of fosfomycin as fosfomycin trometamol.
Contraindications
Pregnus should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to fosfomycin or any of the excipients in the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of kidney disease, as well as in those who are taking other medications that affect kidney function. The use of Pregnus in combination with other antibiotics is not recommended without proper supervision by a healthcare professional. The need for kidney function tests should be evaluated before starting treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
