Indications

Posipen (Dicloxacillin) is indicated in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to dicloxacillin. These infections include, but are not limited to, skin and soft tissue infections, respiratory tract infections, and certain bone and joint infections. It is also used in the treatment of urinary tract infections and gynecological infections caused by susceptible strains.

The use of Posipen is particularly effective in the treatment of infections caused by staphylococci, including penicillinase-producing strains, which are resistant to conventional penicillin. Due to its efficacy, it is recommended that the use of this antibiotic be based on cultures and sensitivity tests to ensure appropriate therapeutic choice.

Composition

Each Posipen capsule contains 250 mg of dicloxacillin, along with excipients necessary for the formulation of the medicine. It is important to review the complete list of excipients on the product packaging.

Contraindications

Posipen is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dicloxacillin or other penicillin group antibiotics. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of allergies to any component of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe renal insufficiency without medical supervision.

Precautions

It should be used with caution in patients who have kidney or liver problems. A proper medical evaluation before starting treatment, as well as monitoring during the use of the medication, is essential. Patients should be informed about the signs of allergic reactions and the importance of discontinuing treatment if they occur.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
