Indications
Piptabac is indicated for the treatment of complicated bacterial infections, including intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as community-acquired and hospital-acquired pneumonia. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, including beta-lactamase producing strains. Its use is recommended in patients with severe infections where resistance to other antibiotics is a factor to consider. The use of Piptabac must be supervised by a physician, who will determine the appropriate duration and dosage according to the severity of the infection and the patient's condition.
Composition
Each vial contains 4 g of Piperacillin and 0.5 g of Tazobactam.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to piperacillin, tazobactam, or any other component of the formula. It is also contraindicated in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to other penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of kidney disease and in those receiving anticoagulant therapy. Renal function and the appearance of adverse reactions should be monitored during treatment. In patients with severe or critical infections, antibiotic selection should be based on the susceptibility of the causative microorganism.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
