Indications
Paramix, whose active ingredient is nitazoxanide, is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal infections caused by protozoa and helminths. It is effective in the management of diarrhea caused by Giardia lamblia, Cryptosporidium parvum, and in infections by other pathogens such as Entamoeba histolytica. In addition, it has been used in the treatment of viral infections such as influenza and other acute respiratory infections. It is important that the use of this medication be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will determine the necessity of its use, as well as the duration of treatment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 0.6 g of nitazoxanide, as well as excipients that allow the formulation of the product.
Contraindications
It is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to nitazoxanide or to any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency and in those with a history of serious gastrointestinal diseases.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver diseases, as well as in those with a history of drug allergies. Monitoring of liver function during treatment is recommended. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless strictly necessary and under the supervision of a physician. In addition, simultaneous use with alcohol should be avoided, as it may increase the risk of adverse effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
