Indications

Mictasol is indicated for the treatment of urinary tract infections, including cystitis and pyelonephritis, caused by susceptible organisms. Norfloxacin is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic that acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Phenazopyridine is an analgesic that helps relieve pain, burning, and discomfort in the urinary tract, providing symptomatic relief during infection treatment.

Composition

Each Mictasol tablet contains:

  • Norfloxacin 400 mg
  • Phenazopyridine 100 mg

Contraindications

Mictasol should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to norfloxacin, phenazopyridine, or any other component of the formula. It is contraindicated in patients with severe liver or kidney disease and in those with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency. Its use is not recommended in pregnant or breastfeeding women without adequate medical supervision.

Precautions

Special care should be taken in patients with central nervous system disorders, as well as in those with a history of seizures. Prolonged exposure to sunlight should be avoided, as the use of norfloxacin can increase sensitivity to sunlight. It is important to inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking, as interactions may occur.

Storage

Store Mictasol at room temperature, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.
  2. FREE national shipping via ground on orders over $1,500.00. Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
