Indications
Macrozit Suspension is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is effective in the treatment of respiratory infections, such as pharyngitis, tonsillitis, and pneumonia. It is also used for skin and soft tissue infections, as well as middle ear infections (otitis media). Additionally, it can be used in the treatment of sexually transmitted infections, such as urethritis and cervicitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Azithromycin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, resulting in the death of bacteria and the resolution of the infection.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Macrozit Suspension contains 200 mg of Azithromycin (as Azithromycin dihydrate) and excipients: potassium sorbate, xanthan gum, sugar, flavoring, and purified water.
Contraindications
This medicine is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Azithromycin, to any other macrolide, or to any of the excipients in the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of severe liver or kidney problems.
Precautions
Monitoring is recommended for patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias and those taking medications that may affect heart rhythm. It is important to follow up with patients with hepatic or renal insufficiency, as dosage adjustment may be necessary. Azithromycin should be used with caution in patients with myasthenia gravis.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 °C. Keep in a dry place protected from direct light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
