Indications
Macrozit is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections in various locations, including respiratory infections, otitis media, sinusitis, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as sexually transmitted infections such as urethritis and cervicitis. Azithromycin, its active ingredient, acts by inhibiting protein synthesis in bacteria, contributing to its bactericidal effect. It is essential to follow the doctor's instructions to determine the duration and dosage of the treatment, as well as to evaluate the clinical response to it.
Composition
Each Macrozit tablet contains 500 mg of Azithromycin, as well as the excipients necessary for its formulation. Azithromycin belongs to the macrolide class of antibiotics, known for its broad spectrum of action against various gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria.
Contraindications
Macrozit is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Azithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of cardiac arrhythmias or severe liver problems.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when using Macrozit in patients with renal or hepatic insufficiency, as well as in those taking medications that may interact with Azithromycin. Medical follow-up during treatment is important, especially in cases of severe or persistent infections.
Storage
Macrozit should be stored in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
