Indications

Lincocin Syringe is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by lincomycin-susceptible microorganisms. These infections may include diseases such as pneumonia caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as bone and joint infections. The medication is particularly used in patients who cannot receive oral antibiotics or who require more intensive management of their treatment due to the severity of their condition. It may also be used in cases of penicillin allergy, where alternative therapy is required.

Composition

Each Lincocin syringe contains 600 mg of lincomycin in 2 ml of solution. Excipients are those necessary for the formulation of the medication, ensuring stability and efficacy in the administration of the active ingredient.

Contraindications

This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to lincomycin or any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in individuals with a history of antibiotic-associated colitis or those with severe gastrointestinal disorders.

Precautions

Caution should be exercised when administering Lincocin to patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as a dosage adjustment may be required. Furthermore, patients should be monitored for possible adverse reactions, including diarrhea which could be indicative of pseudomembranous colitis. Concomitant use with other antimicrobial agents that may interfere with its effect should be avoided.

Storage

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, in a dry place protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
