Indications
Koptin Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by susceptible microorganisms. It is used in upper and lower respiratory tract infections, including sinusitis, bronchitis, and pneumonia. It is also effective in skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in sexually transmitted diseases such as non-gonococcal urethritis and cervicitis. Its bactericidal action is due to the inhibition of protein synthesis in bacteria, which prevents their growth and reproduction.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Koptin Suspension contains: 200 mg of Azithromycin, as well as excipients such as potassium sorbate, glycerin, among others, which aid in the product's formulation and stability.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Azithromycin, to other macrolide antibiotics, or to any of the formula's components. It should not be administered to patients with a history of severe hepatic dysfunction or to those with kidney problems that may compromise drug elimination.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney diseases or in those taking other medications that may interact with Azithromycin. It is important to monitor liver function during prolonged treatments and consider the possibility of adverse effects related to antibiotic use.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius. Protect from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
