Indications

Klaricid OD is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections, including, but not limited to, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis, pharyngitis, pneumonia, and bronchitis. It is also used in the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcer disease. Clarithromycin works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, resulting in the death of bacteria sensitive to this antibiotic.

Composition

Each Klaricid OD capsule contains 500 mg of clarithromycin as the active ingredient, as well as excipients that facilitate the formulation and absorption of the medicine.

Contraindications

Klaricid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin or any of the components of the formula. It should not be administered in combination with certain medications that can cause adverse interactions, such as certain HIV protease inhibitors and ergotamine. Caution should be exercised in patients with severe hepatic or renal impairment.

Precautions

Clinical monitoring is recommended in patients with a history of heart disease, as well as in those with hepatic or renal alterations. Klaricid administration can cause side effects such as nausea, diarrhea, or taste disturbances. Furthermore, caution should be exercised when used in patients with myasthenia gravis, as it may worsen muscle weakness.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
