Indications
Klaricid 12H is a broad-spectrum antibiotic used in the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is indicated for the treatment of upper respiratory tract infections, such as pharyngitis and sinusitis, as well as lower respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia. Additionally, it is used in the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections. Klaricid is also effective in the eradication of Helicobacter pylori in patients with peptic ulcers, in combination with other medications. Clarithromycin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, which results in the death of susceptible bacteria.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Clarithromycin 250 mg. Excipients: Sorbitol, benzoic acid, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, purified water.
Contraindications
Klaricid is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any of the formulation's components. It should not be administered concomitantly with certain medications that can cause serious interactions, such as ergotamine and terfenadine.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or kidney disease, as well as in those with a history of arrhythmias. Monitoring is recommended for patients who are being treated with other drugs that may interact with clarithromycin. The risk-benefit ratio should be evaluated in pregnant and breastfeeding women.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 degrees Celsius, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
