Indications
Klaricid 12H is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by clarithromycin-susceptible organisms. These include, but are not limited to, upper and lower respiratory tract infections, such as sinusitis and pneumonia, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as Helicobacter pylori infections in the context of peptic ulcer disease. Clarithromycin acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, leading to the death of susceptible bacteria.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Clarithromycin 125 mg. Excipients: Purified water, flavoring, xanthan gum, and potassium sorbate.
Contraindications
Klaricid should not be used in patients with known hypersensitivity to clarithromycin, other macrolide antibiotics, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with severe hepatic insufficiency and in those receiving concomitant treatment with certain drugs that prolong the QT interval.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those with cardiac arrhythmias. Clarithromycin may interact with other medications; therefore, it is essential to inform the physician about all ongoing treatments. In case of adverse reactions, treatment should be discontinued and a doctor consulted.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
