Indications
Keflex Pediatric is used in the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to cephalexin. It is indicated in cases of respiratory tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as middle ear infections. This medication is suitable for the treatment of pharyngitis, tonsillitis, otitis media, and some urinary tract infections, among others. Cephalexin works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, which leads to the death of susceptible bacteria.
Composition
Each 5 ml of solution contains 125 mg of cephalexin (as cephalexin monohydrate) and excipients necessary for the formulation of the liquid presentation.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalexin, other cephalosporin antibiotics, or any of the components of the formula. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of penicillin allergies, as cross-reactivity may occur.
Precautions
It is recommended to use this medication with caution in patients with a history of gastrointestinal disease, especially colitis. Likewise, renal function should be evaluated before starting treatment, as the elimination of cephalexin largely depends on renal function. During treatment, it is important to monitor for adverse reactions and the efficacy of the antimicrobial.

Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and humidity. Keep out of reach of children.
