Indications
Keflex (Cephalexin) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections caused by microorganisms sensitive to cephalexin. These include, but are not limited to:
- Respiratory tract infections, including pneumonia and bronchitis.
- Skin and soft tissue infections.
- Ear, nose, and throat infections, such as otitis media.
- Urinary tract infections.
- Bone and joint infections.
The use of Cephalexin should be based on the identification of the pathogen and its susceptibility to the cephalosporin.
Composition
Each Keflex tablet contains 500 mg of cephalexin as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, microcrystalline cellulose, silica, magnesium stearate, among others.
Contraindications
Keflex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cephalosporins or to any component of the formulation. It should also be avoided in patients with a history of severe allergic reactions to penicillins.
Precautions
Caution is recommended in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. In case of diarrhea, it is suggested to discontinue treatment and consult a physician. Renal function should be evaluated before starting treatment, as cephalexin is primarily eliminated by the kidneys.

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children.
