Indications
Isentress (Raltegravir) is indicated for the treatment of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection in adults and children over 2 years of age, in combination with other antiretrovirals. It is used as part of highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) to achieve effective viral suppression and improve immune function. Isentress has also been indicated for the treatment of patients who have failed previous therapies or who show resistance to other antiretrovirals. It is essential that the use of this medication be supervised by a healthcare professional who provides adequate follow-up of the treatment response and adjusts therapy as needed.
Composition
Each Isentress tablet contains 400 mg of Raltegravir, as well as excipients that facilitate its formulation and absorption. It is important to review the leaflet for a complete list of inactive ingredients and to ensure that there are no allergies to them.
Contraindications
Isentress is contraindicated in patients who have demonstrated known hypersensitivity to Raltegravir or any of the components of the formula.
