Indications
Invionezo (Linezolid) is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections, including but not limited to:
- Community-acquired pneumonia caused by susceptible organisms.
- Complicated skin and soft tissue infections.
- Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) infections.
- Vancomycin-resistant Enterococcus faecium (VRE) infections.
Linezolid acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, making it a valuable therapeutic option in the treatment of infections caused by resistant Gram-positive bacteria.
Composition
Each 1 mL of Invionezo contains:
- Linezolid 2 mg
- Excipients: water for injection, hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH.
Contraindications
Invionezo is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to linezolid or any of the excipients. It should also be avoided in patients who are receiving monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs) or who have received these medications within the last 14 days.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of epilepsy, seizure disorders, or in those receiving treatment with other medications that may increase the risk of seizures. It is important to monitor hematologic function during prolonged treatment.
Storage
Store at controlled room temperature between 15°C and 30°C. Protect from light and keep in its original packaging. Do not freeze.
