Indications
Ilosone is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to erythromycin, including:
- Respiratory tract infections, such as pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinusitis.
- Skin and soft tissue infections.
- Ear, nose, and throat infections.
- Infections by Mycoplasma pneumoniae and Chlamydia pneumoniae.
- Infections caused by streptococci and staphylococci, when the patient is allergic to penicillin.
It is important to perform a culture and sensitivity test to confirm the susceptibility of microorganisms to erythromycin before starting treatment.
Composition
Each Ilosone tablet contains 500 mg of erythromycin as base.
Contraindications
This medication is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to erythromycin or any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver problems, in those taking other medications that may interact with erythromycin, as well as in patients with cardiac arrhythmias. It is essential to monitor liver function during prolonged treatment.

Store at room temperature, in a dry, cool place, protected from light. Keep out of reach of children.
