Indications
Granudoxy is indicated for the treatment of various bacterial infections. It is commonly used for respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, as well as in the treatment of malaria and some chlamydia infections. Doxycycline, its active ingredient, is an antibiotic of the tetracycline family, which acts by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth. It is effective against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as some protozoa. Its use is suggested for adult patients and children older than 8 years of age.
Composition
Each Granudoxy tablet contains 100 mg of doxycycline as the active ingredient, in addition to excipients necessary for its formulation.
Contraindications
Granudoxy is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to doxycycline, other tetracyclines, or any of the excipients in the formulation. It should not be administered to pregnant or breastfeeding women, as it may affect fetal or infant development. It is also contraindicated in children under 8 years of age due to the risk of permanent tooth discoloration.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of liver or kidney disease, as well as in those undergoing anticoagulant treatment. Doxycycline can increase sun sensitivity, so it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight exposure during treatment.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C. Keep out of reach of children.
