Indications
Gitrasek is indicated for the treatment of infections caused by fungi and protozoa. It is effective in the treatment of systemic and superficial mycoses, as well as vaginal infections by Trichomonas. This medication is used in patients with a confirmed diagnosis of candidiasis, aspergillosis, histoplasmosis, and other mycotic infections susceptible to the components of the formulation. Secnidazole, for its part, is used in the management of protozoal infections, especially in cases of bacterial vaginosis and amoebiasis. It is suggested that treatment with Gitrasek be supervised by a healthcare professional, who will evaluate the clinical response and the need to continue treatment.
Composition
Each Gitrasek capsule contains: 33.3 mg of Itraconazole and 166.6 mg of Secnidazole.
Contraindications
Gitrasek is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of congestive heart failure or a history of severe liver diseases, as well as in those who are receiving medications that interact significantly with itraconazole or secnidazole.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with liver or heart disease, as well as in those with a history of allergies to antifungals. Adequate monitoring of liver function during treatment is important. Likewise, it is recommended to avoid alcohol consumption during treatment with secnidazole due to the possibility of adverse reactions. Consult your doctor before starting treatment if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
