Indications
Gabirol is indicated for the treatment and prevention of influenza type A virus infections. Rimantadine, its active ingredient, works by inhibiting virus replication, which helps reduce the duration and severity of flu symptoms. It can also be used for prophylactic treatment to reduce the risk of infection in individuals exposed to the virus. It is important to start treatment within the first 48 hours of symptom onset to obtain maximum therapeutic benefit.
Composition
Each 5 ml of Gabirol solution contains 1 g of rimantadine as the active ingredient. It also contains excipients: purified water, citric acid, among others.
Contraindications
Gabirol is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to rimantadine or any of the excipients in the formula. Its use is not recommended in patients with a history of seizures or those with severe renal insufficiency.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in its use in patients with pre-existing medical conditions, such as cardiovascular diseases, liver disease, or kidney disease. It is important to monitor for adverse effects and adjust the dose if necessary. Use in children under 1 year of age is not recommended, except under specific medical indication. Gabirol should not be used as a substitute for flu vaccination.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
