Indications
Fuzitran (Caspofungin) is indicated for the treatment of invasive fungal infections, including esophageal candidiasis in patients who have not responded to other antifungal treatments. It is also indicated for the treatment of invasive aspergillosis in patients who are not suitable for treatment with amphotericin B. Its use is indicated in adult and pediatric patients older than three months who present these conditions. Furthermore, it can be used as empirical treatment in patients with neutropenic fever who do not respond to broad-spectrum antibiotics.
Composition
Each ampule of Fuzitran contains 50 mg of Caspofungin, as well as excipients necessary for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Fuzitran is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to caspofungin or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Its use is not recommended in combination with certain medications that may increase the risk of toxicity or adverse interactions.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised in patients with hepatic insufficiency, as dosage may require adjustments. Likewise, adequate monitoring is recommended for patients who experience adverse reactions during treatment. In case of allergic reactions, treatment should be discontinued immediately.
Storage
Fuzitran should be stored at a controlled temperature of 20°C to 25°C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
