Indications

Flucoxan is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections caused by fluconazole-sensitive organisms. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Candida infections, including esophageal candidiasis, vulvovaginal candidiasis, and systemic candidiasis.
  • Cryptococcus infections, including cryptococcal meningitis in AIDS patients.
  • Prevention of fungal infections in immunocompromised patients, such as those who have received chemotherapy or transplants.
  • Infections caused by dermatophyte fungi.

Composition

Each Flucoxan capsule contains 100 mg of fluconazole as the active ingredient. Excipients: starch, talc, gelatin, titanium dioxide, among others.

Contraindications

Flucoxan is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to fluconazole or any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should be exercised in patients with a history of severe liver or kidney disease.

Precautions

Monitoring is recommended for patients with hepatic or renal impairments. During treatment, the possibility of drug interactions should be considered, especially with other drugs metabolized by the liver. Risk should be assessed in pregnant or breastfeeding patients.

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place, at a temperature not exceeding 30°C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

  1. Free home delivery by local branches on orders over $1000. Otherwise, a $50 fee will be added in the cities of Querétaro and La Paz, BCS, and $150 in San José del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, BCS.

Otherwise, a fee of $170.00 MXN (One hundred seventy Mexican pesos) will be added for a standard package with dimensions up to 20cm x 20cm x 20cm and 1kg in weight, and $290.00 MXN (Two hundred ninety Mexican pesos) for packages exceeding the aforementioned dimensions or weight.
  3. In case of oversized items, the corresponding fee will apply according to the parcel service.
