Indications
Flagenase is indicated for the treatment of bacterial and parasitic infections. It is primarily used in the management of diseases such as amebiasis, giardiasis, and certain anaerobic infections. It is also useful in the treatment of dental infections and in the prophylaxis of postoperative infections in surgical procedures involving anaerobic flora. This medication works by interfering with DNA synthesis in microorganisms, leading to their death. It is essential that the use of Flagenase be carried out under medical supervision, considering the type of infection to be treated and the patient's response to the treatment.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains: Metronidazole 80 mg and Diiodohydroxyquinoline 80 mg. Excipients: purified water, sugar, xanthan gum, among others.
Contraindications
Flagenase is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. It should not be administered to pregnant women during the first trimester and during lactation without proper medical evaluation. Likewise, caution should be exercised in patients with severe liver or kidney diseases.
Precautions
Medical follow-up is recommended for patients with a history of neurological diseases, as well as those with hematological disorders. Patients should be informed about possible adverse effects and the importance of adhering to the prescribed treatment regimen. Concomitant use with alcohol can cause severe adverse reactions.
Storage
Store at room temperature, between 15 and 30 °C, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
