Indications
Denvar Suspension is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections susceptible to cefixime. It is used in respiratory tract infections, including acute otitis media, sinusitis, and pharyngitis. It is also effective in urinary tract infections, such as cystitis and pyelonephritis. Additionally, its use extends to gastrointestinal infections caused by susceptible organisms. It is important that Denvar is used under the supervision of a physician, who will assess the necessity and adequacy of the treatment based on the patient's condition and the results of diagnostic tests.
Composition
Each 5 ml of suspension contains 100 mg of cefixime as cefixime trihydrate. Excipients: xanthan gum, citric acid, potassium sorbate, and other excipients necessary for the formulation.
Contraindications
Denvar is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to cefixime, to other cephalosporin antibiotics, or to any of the excipients in the formulation. Caution should also be exercised in patients with a history of allergic reactions to other antibiotics.
Precautions
Caution is recommended when using Denvar in patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis. Additionally, its use in patients with renal insufficiency should be considered, as dosage may require adjustment. Medical monitoring during treatment is essential to monitor efficacy and the occurrence of adverse effects.
Storage
Store at room temperature between 15 and 30 °C. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use after the expiry date indicated on the packaging.
