Indications
Ceftrex is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by microorganisms susceptible to ceftriaxone. These infections may include, but are not limited to, bacterial pneumonia, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, bacterial meningitis, and septicemia. It is also used for infection prophylaxis in surgical procedures in at-risk patients. The medication should be administered under the supervision of a healthcare professional who will assess the severity of the infection and the susceptibility of the involved microorganism.
Composition
Each Ceftrex ampoule contains 1 g of ceftriaxone, as well as necessary excipients for the product's formulation.
Contraindications
Ceftrex is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone or any other component of the formula. Its use should also be avoided in patients with a history of anaphylactic reactions to other cephalosporin-class antibiotics. Furthermore, its use is not recommended in neonates requiring treatment with calcium-containing solutions, due to the risk of salt precipitation.
Precautions
Caution should be exercised when administering Ceftrex to patients with a history of gastrointestinal diseases, especially colitis, as well as those with renal or hepatic dysfunction. Renal function monitoring is recommended during treatment. Additionally, it is important to consider the possibility of adverse reactions, such as allergic reactions or gastrointestinal side effects.
Storage
Store in a cool, dry place, at room temperature, protected from light. Do not use after the expiration date indicated on the package.
