Why sunscreen is non-negotiable (and how to actually use it right)
Hi my love, let’s get something straight…
If you’re reading this and thinking, “Well, I’m not really at the beach every day,”
STOP.
SPF is not just for surfers or that friend who lives in a bikini. It’s for you, me, your dad, your cousin visiting from Wisconsin, and literally anyone with skin.
So, why is sunscreen essential every single day?
Because your skin doesn’t know if it’s Tuesday, Sunday, or your day off. What it does know is UV radiation — and honey, it never takes a break. UVA rays (the ones that cause aging) pass through clouds, glass, even your car window.
And don’t get me started on blue light from your phone.
Yes, your screen is part of the drama now. Fatal.
Let’s be clear:
- Wrinkles? Preventable.
- Dark spots? Avoidable.
- Skin cancer? Detectable… but better to not even go there, baby.
How to apply SPF the Dalia-approved way:
- At least 2 fingers of product for your face and neck. Yes, that much. Don’t be shy.
- Apply it as the last step of your skincare routine, right before makeup — or just glow bare.
- Reapply every 2 hours, especially if you’re sweating, swimming, or just fabulous under the sun.
Bonus tip:
Mineral SPF is your BFF if you have sensitive skin, and tinted SPF?
Iconic. It protects and evens out your tone. We love a multitasker.
Real talk, amiga: SPF is not a chore. It’s a beauty ritual, a health choice, and your best anti-aging ally. If you wouldn’t skip brushing your teeth, don’t skip your sunscreen.
Your future self (and your dermatologist) will thank you.
Hydrate. Exfoliate. Protect. Repeat.
With love, Dalia Skinner.
