It is also used in the treatment of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism, as well as in the prevention of recurrences of these conditions.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eComposition\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEach Pradaxar capsule contains 150 mg of dabigatran etexilate, as the active ingredient, and excipients that allow for the capsule formulation.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003eContraindications\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePradaxar is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to dabigatran or to any of the excipients in the formulation. It is also contraindicated in patients with active significant bleeding, bleeding disorders, severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance \u0026lt; 15 ml\/min), and in those receiving concomitant treatment with potent P-glycoprotein inhibitors.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\n\u003ch2\u003ePrecautions\u003c\/h2\u003e\n\u003cp\u003ePrecautions should be taken in patients with moderate to severe renal impairment, as well as in those at risk of bleeding. Adequate monitoring is recommended in these patients.
